Give Glamping a go at Carntogher Cabins – You’ll love it!

3rd February, 2020

“Take a break at Carntogher Cabins – you’ll love it!”

That’s the message from Carntogher Cabins outside Maghera. And to sweeten that invitation further all guests who book their stay during Valentine’s week, from Monday 10th of February through until Friday the 14th, will receive a box of chocolates, some light refreshment and a bouquet of flowers upon arrival.

“The booking doesn’t have to be for Valentine’s week, it can be for anytime throughout the year, but confirmation must be given between the 10th and the 14th of February to avail of the promotion,” explained Bronagh McEldowney from Carntogher Cabins.

Carntogher Cabins, which are located on the McEldowney family farm on Slaughtneil Road outside Maghera, offers luxury glamping in great surroundings.

There are four self-catering cabins to choose from, all of which feature a spacious seating area, kitchen and bathroom with shower and a separate bedroom area.  Each of the cabins have their own television and free Wi Fi is available.

Bronagh McEldowney and her husband Ciaran came up with the idea of erecting Cabins on the family farm back in 2016 and the glamping facility opened for business in April, 2019.

The Cabins are a short walking distance via paths to the walking route of the Carntogher History Trail. The area contains a wealth of sites of archaeological and environmental importance such as the Giant’s Grave.

“Our location provides an opportunity to re-engage with nature and there are also numerous attractions within a short driving distance,” said Bronagh.

Carntogher Cabins is now very much part of a working farm with the McEldowney’s also rearing black-faced sheep and Limousin cattle.

“As we approach completion of our first year in business with Carntogher Cabins we are delighted with the progress that has been made and we are hoping to build further on that success throughout 2020,” said Bronagh. “We have had people staying with us from all over the Province and indeed much further afield including the United States of America, Germany and France.

“It’s hard work but we do love it and importantly for us our guests do as well!”
